Q: Does this flash add more HP to the wheels with all stock set up. Also what is the top speed with the stock 26 inch tires? Thanks for the help.
A: With stock clutching and tires we saw the max speeds come in around 56-57 mph without having to increase the RPM limiters to unsafe levels. Minor power increase with all stock vehicles but we are able to improve on throttle response maps.
Q: Do you have fuel maps for aftermarket exhaust or will the standard tune work?
A: We do have tunes to support the aftermarket exhaust systems. They are now available to select from the drop down menus when ordering as well.
Q: Does this reflash require 91 octane and is there any deceleration backfire as a result of this mod?
A: The flash is optimized to run with 91 octane and minimal deceleration backfire if any at all.
Q: What needs done to make an x2 go 60-65mph? Just a ecu flash?
A: With the ECU flash the vehicle in all stock form (tires, clutching etc....) will run to about 57-58 mph. With oversized tires you will gain speed but it all depends on the size you decide to run. With our machine running 28" tires we are able to reach speeds of 63 mph on the stock clutching. Clutching modifications will be made available as well in the near future to allow added speed as well.
Q: Interested in what to expect with the exhaust and ECU flash. Running stock tires right now but am looking to go up to 28". Is the clutch kit from Yamaha sufficient or do you recommend something different ?
A: Going to 28" tires and then pairing with the ECU flash/Exhaust will offset any power loss you would have with the tire change. The kit from Yamaha comes with some pretty light weights which generally cause the RPM's to run on the high side. With the added power from the Exhaust and Flash the vehicle will actually perform better with the stock weights over the Yamaha oversized tire kit.
Q: I have a x2 on order I also ordered it with 27" x10 tires on 14 inch wheels/ and I am having the clutch kit from Yamaha installed before I pick up the side by side. Is the flash still a good Idea. I saw on another post that stated the clutch kit wasn't needed.
A: The clutch kits from Yamaha are a bit on the light side and cause the RPM's to run a little bit on the high side so you notice the engine noise quite a bit more. We still are able to modify and improve on the stock ecu tuning however even if this kit is installed.
Q: Are there any downsides to a 2018 wolverine 4SE that I can expect such as noisier operation, or rough running etc that I can expect?
A: With the ECU flash we do not reprogram any items that negatively effect the operation of the vehicle. The cooling fans are activated sooner than they are from factory settings so you may notice they run sooner than before but they will not increase the noise of the vehicle. Fuel/Timing tables have been adjusted slightly for a better air/fuel mixture which does allow the engine to also run slightly cooler but will not cause any rough running symptoms.
Q: Does this flash work on the 2016 yamaha wolverine 700 R-Spec?
A: This flash is designed for the 2018+ Yamaha Wolverine X2 and X4 models with the 850 engines.
Q: purchasing big gun evo u exhaust and want to know if the ecu reflash will work with this exhaust and if i needed to purchase the big gun cdi or is the reflash good enough. also will be getting the jbs clutch kit and will be running 29-30" tires
A: We do have tuning written for the Big Gun exhaust and it will also work with stock or modified clutching. Within the ECU we are able to modify more areas to allow more power and response than just the standard fuel controllers can access.
Q: Does this completely remove the speed limiter or just raise it? I think mine tops out at 52mph. I would like to be able to do 55-60.
A: We do remove the speed limiter completely which then limits the speed only by RPM's and allows us to see the additional increases.
